Commissioning a Piece

I usually work on commission, which means that the furniture you purchase is designed specifically for you, with your input throughout the process. Typically, clients start by giving me design inspirations such as photos of furniture, general ideas, and features they like. I use this information to draft a few distinct options, and then with further discussion we refine and finalize the design and I produce a detailed quote for the project. If the price is accepted, I take a 50% deposit as soon as I am able to begin work on the project and it becomes my primary focus until it is completed. Sometimes the client or I develop new ideas while the work is underway, and with approval I will usually implement these ideas at no extra charge even when they add expense or labor if they will result in a better product. Once the project is complete, I will deliver and move it into the client’s home or ship it as arranged.
